You can buy the toilet yourself and have us install it, or we can supply the toilet and install it. Either way the installation is the same: the old toilet comes out, a new seal and connections go in, and we test everything before we leave.
You supply the toilet
Already bought one, or have a model picked out? We install customer-supplied toilets starting at $449. That includes a new wax seal, new bolts, a new supply line, testing, and hauling away the old toilet.
Before you buy, measure the rough-in. That's the distance from the finished wall behind the toilet to the center of the bolts that hold it to the floor. Most homes are 12 inches, but some are 10 or 14, and a toilet made for a different rough-in won't fit. Check the bowl shape too. An elongated bowl sticks out about an inch and a half farther than a round one, which matters in a tight half bath.
We supply a TOTO Drake
When we supply the toilet, we install a TOTO Drake. It's a two-piece toilet with an elongated bowl, TOTO's Universal Height (chair height), and a 12-inch rough-in. The seat comes with it. We'll give you the installed price before any work starts.
What every installation includes
- Shutting off the water and removing the old toilet
- Cleaning the flange and checking that it's solid
- A new wax seal and new floor bolts
- A new supply line from the shutoff valve to the tank
- Setting the new toilet and securing it to the floor
- Flushing it several times and checking every connection for leaks
- Hauling away the old toilet
What can add to the job
Our prices assume the flange, the shutoff valve, and the floor under the toilet are in good shape. Sometimes they aren't. A cracked or rusted flange, a shutoff valve that won't close all the way, or soft subfloor from an old slow leak has to be fixed before a new toilet goes on. If we find something like that, we'll show you, price it, and get your okay before we do the work.
Warranty
Customer-supplied fixtures are not covered by our equipment warranty. The installation itself is covered under our standard labor warranty.
Repair or replace?
A toilet that runs, rocks, or flushes weakly can usually be fixed. That's toilet repair, and a minor rebuild (new fill valve, flapper, and supply line) starts at $289. Replacing makes more sense when the tank or bowl is cracked, when it's an older toilet that uses 3.5 gallons or more per flush, when you keep paying to fix the same one, or when you want a taller seat or an elongated bowl.
When you book, let us know whether you already have the toilet or want us to bring a TOTO Drake.
