Gas Package Unit Blower Seized Up in Mebane

What we found and did

The blower motor was seized to the blower wheel and could not be removed. On the first visit, Bernard shut off power to the gas package unit, disassembled the blower wheel housing and blower motor assembly, and let the homeowners know additional parts had to be ordered. When Bernard and Matt returned, they removed the failed components and installed a new blower housing, blower wheel, and blower motor, then verified the blower wheel spins freely. They also verified the blower motor speed settings and gas pressure settings, and removed and cleaned the flame sensor and igniter.

Result

A final operational test confirmed the system was heating properly.

FAQ

Heating in Mebane: questions answered

Answered by our licensed technicians serving Mebane.

How often should I have my heating system serviced in North Carolina?

We recommend annual heating maintenance in the fall before temperatures drop. Even though Triangle-area winters are relatively mild, the occasional hard freeze means your system needs to be ready to perform reliably when called upon.

What type of heating system is best for homes in the Apex and Raleigh area?

Heat pumps are extremely popular and efficient in our Zone 4A climate since they handle both heating and cooling. For homes needing supplemental heat during rare deep freezes, a dual-fuel system pairing a heat pump with a gas furnace offers the best of both worlds.

How do I know if my heating system needs to be replaced?

Key indicators include the system being over 15 years old, requiring frequent repairs, producing uneven temperatures, or causing energy bills to climb steadily. Our technicians can assess your system and help you weigh repair costs against replacement benefits.

Do you offer emergency heating service?

Yes. We provide 24/7 emergency heating repair throughout the Triangle area. When temperatures drop unexpectedly, our dispatchers prioritize calls from homes without heat to restore your comfort as quickly as possible.
