A Hillsborough homeowner reported that their 1 year old unit, originally installed by the company, was not cooling.
Mario found the heat pump was not coming on because the defrost board was not sending voltage through the low pressure switch. He started by making a call for cool at the thermostat and checking the air handler, then moved to the heat pump on the left side of the building, where he confirmed the high pressure switch was receiving and passing 24v. The defrost board started passing voltage after 15 minutes of diagnostics, and Mario recommended having the defrost board replaced, with the board ordered separately since the visit ran after 5pm.
The system was operating and cooling when Mario left, with the defrost board replacement recommended.

Mario inspected the thermostat, air handler, and heat pump at a Hillsborough home and observed wires to be crossed, with the 24v wire from the transformer going directly to the fan speed tap. He corrected the wiring and, because of the system's prior short issue, tested all operations of the unit.
After the wiring correction, the system was operating properly without any issues.
