A Cary homeowner reported a cooling issue with their mini-split system and mentioned that someone had been out a week earlier to add refrigerant.
Mario found that the unit was low on refrigerant, which he confirmed by checking system pressures after the unit threw a U0 fault code during a call for cooling at the thermostat. He started by running the system from the thermostat, then investigated the U0 fault code to track down the cause. The homeowner declined a refrigerant leak search for the time being and instead asked for an estimate on a full system replacement, which Mario provided.

A Cary homeowner in the 27519 area reported a leak from the attic down to the bathroom and a condensation issue on the second floor, along with a master bedroom unit not keeping up with the thermostat and a cooling issue on the second and third floors.
Over three visits, Mario found heavy gunk build-up inside the condensation pump reservoir and tubing, a failed 14-inch bypass damper, water leaking from the evaporator coil door because it needed to be properly sealed, and an SS2 safety switch that was still bad. Mario replaced the SS2 safety switch, confirmed the drain line was draining properly with the breather a previous technician had installed, and checked the static pressure, which was a little on the higher end but not high enough to affect the drain line. On the final visit he found that all three old-school Honeywell zone dampers were failing, and with the homeowner's approval, a cracked heat exchanger test on the Trane unit revealed a crack, which he showed the homeowner on video. Estimates were provided for the condensation pump and tubing, the bypass damper, the coil door sealing, and replacement options for the three zone dampers.
The unit was draining properly and working, with the access door left off for two days to let the interior fully dry.

Travis found that the drain pan was full and clogged, and that the wiring connected to the condenser wasn't allowing voltage to pass. He removed all the water from the pan and fixed the 90 fitting outside.
